Stafford Borough Conservative Group

Our policies for Stone and rural areas

We will continue to improve the car parking in Stone town, extending the Christchurch car park and creating over 70 extra spaces. The policy regarding Long and Short Stay will be considered by the new Council.

We will continue to improve the community and canal visitors' facilities in Westbridge Park as well as the leisure use.

We will continue, through the Stone Town Market Initiative, to invest in Stone town and the rural parishes and also provide grants for community use in the surrounding areas.

We will continue to support the protection of the Green Belt in Swynnerton, Barlaston, and Fulford wards.

We will continue to carefully scrutinise house building in Stone in planning terms favouring sympathetic design. The provision of the proper infrastructure will also be a major priority.

We will continue to pay close attention to the needs of our rural villages, the farming community and all associated industries.
